New recordings from Yuja Wang, Lucas & Arthur Jussen, and Daniil Trifonov

Here are three new albums to check out and add to your playlist. The highlights include Yuja Wang's performance of Mendelssohn's Piano Sextet and First Piano Concerto with the Verbier Festival Orchestra; the brother-duo, Lucas & Arthur Jussen, in a fantastic DG album of two piano works; and Daniil Trifonov collaborates with the baritone Matthias Goerne in gorgeous lieder.

YUJA WANG,
VERBIER FESTIVAL ORCHESTRA

YUJA WANG PLAYS MENDELSSOHN

In a new collaboration, the Verbier Festival and Deutsche Grammophon are releasing archival recordings from past summer seasons. One of the recent releases is of the superstar pianist Yuja Wang with the legendary Kurt Masur leading the orchestra. Verbier occurs in the Swiss Alps each summer and you can imagine just how breathtaking this music is coupled with the alpine backdrop.

LUCAS & ARTHUR JUSSEN

DUTCH MASTERS

The piano duo Lucas & Arthur Jussen, both brothers, have been collaborating since childhood. Now their gorgeous album on DG is one at which to marvel. Indulge in some really splashy two-piano works, and particularly listen to Joey Roukens Concerto for Two Pianos with the Netherlands Radio Philharmonic. The brothers' performance is just exhilarating.

SCHUMANN:
Dichterliebe, OP. 48: I. IM WUNDERSCHÖNEN MONAT MAI

We all know just how much of a superstar Daniil Trifonov is these days, but it's not often you hear him collaborate with a singer. In the case of this new album featuring the German baritone Matthias Goerne, Daniil's artistry takes on a new, delicate light that is just as silky as if you heard his solo work. A single is out now, with the full album forthcoming later this year.
