Rising Star Jonathan Ferrucci performed powerful, breathtaking pieces during his Wigmore Hall concert, as part of the Young Classical Artists Trust event, which is considered an excellent destination point for emerging talent.
For this concert, Jonathan was one of three pianists to perform a 25-minute program in front of a top music industry jury panel after progressing through two rigorous selection rounds. Wigmore Hall in London has been hosting classical music performances for more than 100 years and is a premier place to perform, in no small part because of its near-perfect acoustics.
In the video above, we can hear Jonathan play some of the masters: J.S. Bach’s Prelude and Fugue in C-sharp minor BWV 849; Scriabin’s Etude in C-sharp minor Op. 42, No. 5, and Bartók’s Piano Sonata Sz. 80.
Jonathan has been described as “a stunning presence on the platform – a great storyteller.” His playing has been described as “captivating. … tightly controlled, energy deployed in vary degrees as and when emotion so demanded.”
We can’t wait to hear Jonathan perform in Oregon this coming weekend, SAT / APR 13 and SUN / APR 14, as well as on SAT / APR 20. He will be performing music of Bach, Schubert, Bartók, and Ravel during three hour-long public performances. He also will be hosting a masterclass on SAT / APR 13. More details.
