Tholen Fellows Project
What is the Tholen Fellows Project?
A new initiative of Portland Piano International, the Tholen Fellows Project offers piano teachers on the Central Coast and Southern Oregon a potentially transformative professional development experience – the opportunity to study with a renowned concert pianist and teacher. Tholen Fellows will receive one-on-one lessons and coaching on four separate occasions between June 2016 and May 2017. Each session will consist of three hours of instruction that includes a 2-hour lesson and a 1-hour coaching session with the teacher and his/ her student.
Each Tholen Fellow will also receive a free four-day pass to Portland Piano International’s Summer Festival as well as tickets to a Portland Piano International 2016-17 season piano recital. Travel, lodging and per diem will be covered through the fellowship.
The Tholen Fellows Project is funded through the Nellie Tholen Fund of The Oregon Community Foundation.
Our Tholen Fellow master teachers are Tatiana Ioudenitch and Alexander Shtarkman. You can read more about them by clicking the photos below.
